WHEN THE WORLD ASKS WHAT GOD IS LIKE, WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SAY, “LOOK AT THE CHURCH”
When Jesus came to earth, he turned the world's values upside down. Jesus modeled servant-hood and love. He lifted the lonely and embraced the marginalized. In his first public message, he said “I have come to set the captives free and to preach good news to the poor”.
We take these words seriously and consider it our calling to serve others. Through local, national and international relationships, we‘re living out Jesus‘ values by fighting poverty and injustice.
Community Serve Day // Rise & Shine: Hundreds of volunteers go out into the community to serve by doing yard work, light construction and painting for those who cannot do so on their own. This year, we are partnering with the City of Placerville and the next event takes place April 27, 2019.
Global 6K Walk/Run for Water: Partnering with World Vision, we gather at the Mosquito Road El Dorado Trail Head and raise money and awareness for communities that don’t have clean drinking water. Sponsor a child to help keep the support going year ‘round. This year’s event takes place May 4, 2019.
Mexico Missions: Located in Baja, Mexico - approximately one hour south of the border, Door of Faith is home and family to over 100 orphans. Here is your chance to put your faith into action! Be part of a summer camp for kids, build a home for a family in need, serve those living in the landfill and support refugees taking shelter in Tijuana. Next trips are July 13-20 & July 20-27.
