Christmas Traditions - Trees 11/25/18

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
— 1 Peter 2:24 ESV

Big Idea: The right tree can transform your winter into Christmas.

Christmas is not a happy time for a lot of people. Many have experienced the loss of loved ones in deep and profound ways, during Christmas. Christmas for some of us, with shorter daylight hours, make our lives feel darker. For some of us, it could be that relational conflicts come out during the holidays. Maybe even some of us, our financial difficulties are now exacerbated because everybody’s buying stuff and you can’t even pay your bills.

For some of us, it’s just simply a matter of our deep-seated loneliness. My personal belief is that Christmas tends to exaggerate what’s already true about you, so there’ll be many of us, here who will long for the winter in our hearts to be turned into something else.

Do me a favor and say out loud, “It’s winter now, but Christmas is coming.”

It’s winter now, but Christmas is coming.
