LIFE SKILLS

At Green Valley Community Church we know that life isn't really as random as it sometimes seems. We understand the importance of equipping people with the tools and skills they need to help them through all that life has to offer—the good times as well as the bad. That’s why we are devoted to offering a diverse program of classes and support groups to residents of El Dorado County.

Every human life is a spiritual journey...

The natural progression of a person as they grow in their understanding of God, the world, and themselves. Each journey is as unique and personal as the individual. It is an intentional lifestyle of growing deeper in knowledge and wisdom.
This journey is three dimensional:

  • Upward towards God
  • Inward towards God’s family
  • Outward to community and service

Balance is essential—we need equal parts of all three.
Use this catalog to help map out the next step on your spiritual journey. Perhaps you want to learn more about the Bible and how to apply it’s wisdom. Maybe there is a life circumstance that you’re facing right now and you need to be in a healthy community with others who are also working on that issue. Sometimes the practical issues of life need our attention for a season. Our hope is that these programs will help you craft a well-balanced and holistic plan that will move you closer to the person God has designed you to be. A healthy, balanced life leads to a sense of purpose, direction, connection, contentment and joy—the abundant life God offers.

Renovation of the Heart

Join us for this in-depth & challenging 13-week study by noted theologian and author, Dallas Willard. As Christians, we know that we are new creations in Jesus, so we try to act differently, hoping this will make us more like Him. But changing our outward behavior doesn't change our hearts. Only by God's grace can we be transformed internally. This fresh approach to spiritual growth explains the Biblical reasons why Christians need to undergo change in six aspects of life: thought, feeling, will, body, social context and soul.

Time: 10:00 - 11:00 AM

Women In Prayer

Prayer develops our relationship with God. If we never speak to the people we know, the relationship will quickly deteriorate. It is the same way with God. Prayer - talking with God - helps us grow closer and become more intimately connected to Him.  This group offers an opportunity to gather in His name and grow closer through prayer. Whether you want to pray for others, are in need of personal prayer or want to share a praise for answered prayer, join us whenever you can. No need to register. For women only.

Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM
